Bryan Singer confirms ‘X-Men’ crossover with ‘Fantastic Four’ film ‘in play’ at Fox
Fox has found success with their X-Men films and are attempting a reboot of their Fantastic Four franchise, beginning next month, and now X-Men director Bryan Singer confirms a much bigger plan may be in the works.
An X-Men /Fantastic Four crossover could happen evidently as the X-Men: Apocalypse director said crossover ideas are definitely “in play,” though he stopped short of confirming plans outright.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Singer revealed that there have been conversations about bringing together the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
“Those ideas are in play,” he said. “That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”
Time travel is nothing new for the X-Men, which was a centerpiece of Days of Future Past.
“We’ll have to see how the films turn out” he said. “To just say you’re going to do it would be a mistake, you have to see how the films evolve before you make that decision to completely commit to that.”
Fox currently has July 13, 2018 reserved for an as-yet-unnamed Marvel movie.
Comicbook.com published an article listing some of the recommended storylines featuring a crossover between the two super teams.
