Brittany Royal murder: Boaz Johnson, suspect or victim – unsolved mystery from 2013

A happy couple, just announced they were having a baby together and settling down in Hawaii – that’s how the story begins, but six months later, the families of Brittany Royal and Boaz Johnson have no answers.

“They were excited about them being pregnant and kind of starting this new adventure and new life,” Brittany Royal’s mother Julie Royal told ABC News earlier this month, but still seeks answers in the death of her daughter and the disappearance of her fiance, Johnson.

Who killedBrittany Jane Royal? Where is her boyfriend, Bo Johnson?

Royal’s body was found, strangled to death, but Johnson still remains missing, a suspect in the investigation according to police.

The family has always been supportive, never believing Bo killed Brittany.

“We’re definitely concerned that he was also murdered alongside Brittany. It’s very possible her body showed up and his didn’t,” Boaz Johnson’s sister Sarah Johnson said. “It just seems all too easy to blame someone who isn’t even here, may not even be alive to defend himself.”

A mysterious note discovered in October provides the only recent clue, pointing to a death over property rights near the lava tours – more details here.

Both families say they don’t know what to believe. According to Brittany’s mother, Hawaiian police have been sharing little to no information.

“We’re so in needing-to-find-out mode that it’s blocking the grief process, which has been really, really difficult for us. It’s surreal. It’s like a complete out-of-body experience and it’s just been really tough,” Julie Royal said.
