“Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem will be on full display at TechCrunch Disrupt, showcasing our thriving tech community to companies and investors from across the world,” said Elaine Bedel, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “As a state, we will continue to support Hoosier innovators as they start and scale their businesses, attracting capital investment to Indiana and creating high-skilled jobs for Hoosiers.”

Indiana is the only state with its own pavilion at this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt conference and will be among several countries like Japan, Germany, Austria, Australia, South Korea and Lebanon.

Tim Peoples, managing director of the Foundry at Purdue University, said it is exciting to see three startups that have been involved with the university’s entrepreneurship and commercialization accelerator at the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship taking part in the conference.

“These three are great examples of the startups being created here at Purdue with the help of the Foundry,” Peoples said. “We see entrepreneurs come in with raw ideas and help them hone those ideas, develop business plans and help them move their ideas to the marketplace where they can have an impact.”

Brightlamp is computer vision and augmented intelligence company that uses mobile devices for biomechanical diagnostics. It has developed a downloadable app that can detect concussions in real time and is working with physicians to create its consumer-ready product. Brightlamp competed for the Disrupt Cup last year at TechCrunch Disrupt NY 2017.

Mimir is a software company that grows the software engineering workforce. This is accomplished in three product channels: Mimir Classroom, which helps computer science instructors scale and automate curriculum without compromising quality for students; Mimir Workforce, a channel built to house a technical assessment tool for evaluating and hiring engineers; and Mimir Academy, a way to support individualized learning through camps, classes and development.

Pinpoint Pharma is a startup using Purdue University-patented technology to produce precise, individualized medicine capsules for pets. The company has created a printer that is faster than traditional methods and offers medications tailored to individual animals to optimize outcomes and avoid adverse reactions.

The conference will be held Sept. 5-7 in San Francisco at the Moscone Center West.
