Brazilian judge orders the arrest of Google chief, Fabio Jose Silva Coelho over failure to remove YouTube videos

Judge Flavio Peren has ordered the arrest of the president of Google’s operations in Brazil for dismissing an order to remove some disparaging YouTube videos aimed at a mayoral candidate.

The two videos in question, take aim at Alcides Bernal, candidate for mayor in  Campo Grande, according to an Associated Press report.

The arrest order for Fabio Jose Silva Coelho was issued yesterday, although police say they have not received the order.

In addition to issueing the order to arrest Coelho, Judge Peren ordered a statewide, 24-hour suspension of Google and YouTube.

Google is appealing the order.
