Bowen’s Botches and Bodyslams: WWE SummerSlam Results and Review August 18 2018

WWE SummerSlam controls our Sunday night from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. AJ Styles defends the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar defends the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, and Alexa Bliss defends the RAW Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey. It’s a stacked card with the biggest names in WWE and every championship on the line.

Zelina Vega Rolls Up Lana and uses the ropes for leverage to get the Pinfall victory.

RAW Tag Team Championships
The B Team (c) vs. The Revival

Curtis Axel scores a Pinfall victory over Scott Dawson after Dawson’s roll up was reversed by a stumbling Bo Dallas.

Dolph Ziggler (c) with Drew McIntyre vs. Seth ROllins with Dean Ambrose

Seth Rollins wins by Pinfall after a Curbstomp on Dolph Ziggler to win the Intercontinental Championship.

 

Smackdown Tag Team Championships
The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The New Day

The New Day wins by Disqualification after Rowan uses a mallet against New Day. Bludgeon Brothers retain the titles.

 

Money In The Bank Contract Match
Braun Stroman vs. Kevin Owens

Braun Strowman pins Kevin Owens after a Running Powerslam.

 

Smackdown Women’s Championship
Carmella (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair hits Natural Selection on Becky Lynch and scores a victory via Pinfall, and we have a new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Becky Lynch snaps and assaults Charlotte Flair after the match.

 

WWE Championship
AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe wins by Disqualification after AJ Styles hits him with a steel chair.

The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan

The Miz wins by Pinfall after using Brass Knuckles handed to him by Maryse from the crowd, all of this undetected by the referee.

 

Baron Corbin vs. Finn Balor

Finn Balor wins by Pinfall after the Coup De Grace.

 

WWE United States Championship
Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Jeff Hardy

Shinsuke Nakamura lands the Kinshasa knee strike and wins by Pinfall. Randy Orton came out after the match to seemingly attack Jeff Hardy, but he turned around and returned up the ramp once he hit the ring.

Ronda Rousey wins by Submission with an Armbar on Alexa Bliss.

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

  • Braun Strowman coming out to announce he will challenge the winner of Lesnar vs. Reigns.
