#SDLive starts off with CHAOS as The #NewDay runs to #TeamHellNo‘s rescue only to be taken out by #SAnitY and The #BludgeonBrothers… pic.twitter.com/IdtzOcmvXb
— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – This segment was great from beginning to end, even though Kane is now some weird combination of Corporate Kane and Demon Kane. The tension between Miz and Daniel Bryan continues to build, and surely the entire WWE universe will appreciate the moment everything breaks down between them. The Bludgeon Brothers coming out was not a surprise, but Sanity getting involved was an added bonus. Of course The New Day got involved once the beatdown had commenced on Team Hell No, and that clearly portends a ten man tag match later tonight.
AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura with Rusev on commentary accompanied by Aiden English
AJ Styles wins by Disqualification when Rusev attacks him at ringside. Rusev and Nakamura beat on Styles, and Jeff Hardy comes out to save him. General Manager Paige turns this into a tag team match.

Bodyslam – Styles and Nakamura were putting on one of their best matches to this point, but you had to know that once Rusev came out and sat down at commentary, he would be involved in the ending.

— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – The match was more to showcase the title match competitors this Sunday at Extreme Rules than to be a real tag match, but was fun regardless. Rusev looks dominant going into his title match, and Jeff Hardy looks vulnerable for his. This does the job of making me curious to see what happens this Sunday.
James Ellsworth and Carmella Backstage
Don’t let down @CarmellaWWE, @realellsworth… CAPICHE!? #SDLive pic.twitter.com/evOGtuN5qj
— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – Carmella dominating Ellsworth is great, and WWE cut him from their roster just as that started last year. Hopefully we’ll get to see Carmella abuse Ellsworth longer this time.
Lumberjack Match – Asuka vs. James Ellsworth
Asuka forces James Ellsworth to Tap Out to the Asuka Lock. Carmella and James Ellsworth attack Asuka after the match.

— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – This one could go either way, but it is the right move to have Asuka get the better of Ellsworth with what he has been saying on social media. The match was nothing noteworthy, but this is all about the surrounding story. The overbearing misogyny from Ellsworth is WWE pushing the envelope in how far they can go with controversial storylines, and they are playing it out the right way to keep this from causing backlash from the fanbase. As long as Ellsworth comes out losing and looking like a coward they can possibly make up for him winning the first Women’s Money in the Bank match.
The New Day and Team Hell No Backstage

— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – The New Day and Team Hell No together is pretty funny just to think about, but seeing it play out is better. The New Day is all about unity and the Power of Positivity, while Team Hell No has confrontation and disagreement. Even Kane quoting NSync didn’t ruin the segment.
James Ellsworth and Carmella Backstage
.@realellsworth has a primo seat for @WWEAsuka vs. @CarmellaWWE at #ExtremeRules… dangling above the ring in a #SharkCage!!!! #SDLive @RealPaigeWWE pic.twitter.com/Xqw6YojznD
— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – Ellsworth is so creepy and looks like you would expect to see him on LIVE PD in a meth lab raid instead of on Smackdown Live. Which makes his advances toward General Manager Paige invoke that much more emotion. I felt bad for her that she was that close to his puckered lips at all, which proved to me that this angle is working.

Bodyslam – I would have liked this match to be uninterrupted by commercials, because the pace and rhythm in a match between luchadors is important. The two men still put on a great show, and I’m glad we finally got to see this match on television. This was eluded to weeks ago, and they’ve been wrestling in dark matches and at house shows. I thought it was going to be abandoned, but luckily we got to see this. I hope they get some feature time, because these two could make magic if given the opportunity.
Sanity and The Bludgeon Brothers Backstage
Let the bludgeoning begin…
A colossal #10ManTag takes place NEXT on #SDLive! pic.twitter.com/3NwUTz7edS
— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – Sanity did well cultivating their characters in NXT, and they deliver them expertly now. They are convincing as agents of chaos, and their look and demeanor go a long way toward making it believable. The Bludgeon Brothers are keeping their speaking to a minimum, which is exactly what they needed.

— WWE (@WWE) July 11, 2018
Bodyslam – Sanity’s presence was appropriate for this predictably chaotic ten man tag team match. It was a lot of fun though, and everybody got to show off what they can do. The fans got the ending they wanted, and Kane stepping in front of Daniel to lead a YES! chant followed by Daniel stepping in front of Kane to steal his pyro gimmick was funny and maintains momentum for their tense but functioning relationship. Everything was executed nicely to lead us into Extreme Rules.
