Bob Newhart set for guest role on ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as Professor Proton
The hit TV show The Big Bang Theory announced Thursday that they will add Emmy-winner actor Bob Newhart to their cast.
According to TV Line in a March 21 exclusive, Newhart will be a guest star on the show as ‘Professor Proton,’ an old host from a television science show. ‘Professor Proton’ played a significant role in Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard’s (Johnny Galecki) lives growing up.
The story arc explains that Sheldon that Newhart’s character can be hired for parties or events, so Sheldon hires ‘Proton’ to come to the apartment he shares with Leonard.
The episode is slated to air on Thursday, May 2.
Big Bang Theory returns with its next original episode on Thursday, April 4.
