Bob Newhart confirmed for return to ‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 will Bill Nye
Bob Newhart is confirmed to be returning to The Big Bang Theory for season 7 appearance in November.
CBS announced that Newhart, who won his first ever Emmy for his guest role on the CBS comedy, will appear alongside Bill Nye, The Science Guy.
In the November episode of The Big Bang Theory, Professor Proton (Newhart) contacts Leonard (Johnny Galecki) to ask for his help with an experiment. Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who has loved Professor Proton since childhood, seeks revenge by befriending Nye.
The famous actor hinted at return appearances on the show back in a May interview saying “The key to the deal was that it “the stint probably won’t be one time,” “I said, ‘It has to be a recurring role. Maybe three appearances, something like that.”
Newhart won the Emmy for his first appearance as Professor Proton, who was hired by the Sheldon to hang out with them in their apartment.
Nye recently competed on and was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars.
Newhart’s return to The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
