With a microphone in one hand and a braille lyric sheet in the other, a blind girl from the Philippines has become the latest viral video on YouTube as she sings the Miley Cyrus hit “Wrecking Ball”.
11-year-old Joyce Jimenez of Barangay Luzon, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental in the southern Philippines is featured on the video published by George Doton last week.
As of today, the video has been seen by more than 350,000 people.
The video has received a lot of attention on the web and on the You Tube page where its published, the comments went like this:
“This one I can say is better than Miley.. I hope God will use someone to let everyone know how talented you are… Amazing voice… God bless you girl..”
“goose bumps.. she so good.”
“she put dignity to the song”
And perhaps the most interesting comment–“Ellen DeGeneres, please get her on your show!!!”. This of course refers to the American talk show host who has featured such unknown at the time, Filipino talent as Charice, Zendee Rose Tenerefe and Rhap Salazar.
