Bill O’Reilly corrects Donald Trump on Bible ‘Eye for an Eye’ remark on forgiveness

Donald Trump stated that he boycotted the Fox GOP debate because he believes moderator Megyn Kelly will not treat him fairly and during an interview with Fox host Bill O’Reilly, Trump reveals his approach to forgiveness.
According to O’Reilly, Trump should participate in the debate so that the American people will be given the opportunity to see him in a public debate forum.

“In your Christian faith, there is a very significant tenet and that’s the tenet of forgiveness,” O’Reilly said, referring to the grudge Trump appears to be holding against Megyn Kelly.

“I think you should be the bigger man,” O’Reilly added. “Don’t you think that’s the right thing to do?”
“It probably is,” Trump agreed. “But y’know it’s called an eye for an eye. I guess also you can look at it that way.”
“No, no, no,” O’Reilly countered. “That’s Old Testament. If you’re the Christian, the eye-for-the-eye rule goes out. Here’s what it is: Turning the other cheek.”
Trump brushed aside O’Reilly’s comments, saying that O’Reilly was taking the issue much more seriously than he himself was.
Kelly since the first Fox News debate, when she asked about his history of making sexist comments, and he didn’t let up during the O’Reilly interview.

“I have zero respect for Megyn Kelly, I don’t think she’s very good at what she does, I think she’s highly overrated,” Trump said.

He also continued the attacks on Twitter:

I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct. Instead I will only call her a lightweight reporter!

An Eye For An Eye and Donald Trump

By Profesor Martin Danenberg “El Quijote del GED”

Donald Trump quoted the Code of Hammurabi in his exchange with Bill O’Reilly, not the Old Testament. He demonstrated his knowledge of the Bible and Global Studies at the same time. He failed and he should be fired. He is just like President Obama and his staff who have walked around the United States telling people how smart the president is. At the very moment that Donald Trump should have gotten into trouble for talking about education, he is in trouble about another form of education and that is the Bible. The Code of Hammurabi comes from the region where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers come from (Iraq today). So he was expressing those values and not New York or even American values.

Addressing education, Donald Trump says he will take out Common Core, making all of the opponents of Common Core align with him. Our nation has had greater problems than the new Common Core. Just a few years ago, students all over New York and many other states were failing their state exams and dropping out of high school in great numbers. Those numbers improve with hard work and or easier tests. There are three fundamentals to improving the performance of our schools. One is helping the students pass their state exams by better teacher training and parent involvement. I have the solution to that. Huge growth in parent involvement can be achieved by using technology and not by expecting parents to come into school meetings. You have not heard this from Donald Trump or from anyone else in the country. The third fundamental is that teens who drop out of school must get their high school equivalency immediately. This could help close a million youth each year and end up saving the taxpayers billions of dollars in social service costs. All three done properly will save even much more. The American people have to stop practicing “An Eye for An Eye” and start turning the other cheek as well.

As a retired federal government public affairs officer I agree with Trump. Kelly dresses as if she is going to a cocktail party (or the cocktail server) . And her makeup is overdone –those eyelashes are almost cartoon-ish. Kelly’s appearance (and a few other FOX female commentators)negate their professionalism. Instead of listening to the news, I want to say “I will have a dry martini, please!”

Why would anyone support a coward afraid to stand up to scrutiny? Is Trump a quitter like Palin? I think so. Megan questioned Trump on statements Trump made. He’s scared of himself. He likes to hurl verbal bombs but can’t take any heat caused by himself. What a loser
