‘Big Brother 16’ gets approved and ‘Big Brother After Dark’ season 8 will also return
CBS’ summer staple Big Brother will return next year for a 16th cycle.
Additionally, the live, late-night companion show Big Brother: After Dark,which moved from Showtime to new CBS sibling TVGN this summer, has been renewed for another installment on the basic cable network.
Big Brother, which recently marked its 500th episode, is averaging 7.29 million viewers and 2.6 ratings in adults 18-49 this summer.
The reality show is up +11% in viewers and +8% in adults 18-49 vs. last summer.
Big Brother has been key to CBS leading the ratings alongside Under the Dome. Big Brother broadcasts three times a week and all three shows fair extremely well. Read more details here
The current 15th season of Big Brother will conclude with a 90-minute finale Wednesday at 9:30 PM, immediately following the season premiere of another long-running CBS reality series, Survivor.
