Ben Bass talks ‘Rookie Blue’ season 5, what’s ahead for Sam

BEN BASSABC’s popular police drama Rookie Blue returns this week to begin their fifth season. Star Ben Bass took out time to preview the upcoming season during an interview with The Dispatch.

Bass discussed his character, Det. Sam Swarek, how he’s “in and out of a relationship with the love of his life” and upcoming episodes which involve a player from past seasons. Ben really praises the season finale saying it has been real “interesting to find the growth of the character” with the writers, adjusting to “variations over the long term.”

Looking back over his career, Ben details how much he’s changed, saying that he’s “more philosophical in his approach” and tries not to be so hard himself.

We even had a good laugh or two about 21 Jumpstreet, Johnny Depp and a pair of Van Halen tickets.

Check out the full interview below.

Rookie Blue airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC
