‘Bates Motel’ season 3 headed to A&E after renewal, writers praised
The prequel to Psycho has proved to be a fan favorite and a hit show for A&E as they renewed Bates Motel for a third season.
Only halfway through the second season, the thriller/horror show gets a bump and a confirmed season 3 as season 2 is averaging over 4.6 million viewers.
“The incredible writing team and talented Bates Motel cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television,” said A&E EVP David McKillop.
Bates Motel stars Vera Farmiga as Norma Bates and Freddie Highmore as Norman.
Norma’s other son Dylan has proved to be an integral part of season 2 with some disturbing and shocking twists.
Star MaxTheiriot says Dylan is “totally hurt and repulsed” and he watches Norma continue on, going on a date with George (Michael Vartan).
“It will disrupt their relationship,” he says about Dylan’s relationship with Norma. “This is another thing Norma had been keeping from him and [it’s] the biggest yet. He does understand, but at the same time, he doesn’t understand why she would bring a child into the world that will instantly be despised because of the circumstances.”
Bates Motel airs Mondays at 10/9c on A&E.
