Bakery blunder on graduation cake becomes latest new Internet meme with cat on head
Now a graduation cake for a student featured a cat on her head, instead of a cap, highlighting a bakery mix-up has become the latest sensation across the Internet.
When Laura Gambrel, age 22, graduated from Indiana University, her proud mother Carol decided to order a celebratory cake.
She instructed the baker to include a congratulatory message and degree scroll on the sugary treat, as well as a graduation cap.
When she went to collect the cake, however, she was instead greeted by a cheerful-looking cat perched on top of her daughter’s head.
“My mom ordered a graduation cake with a cap drawn on,” the graduate posted on Reddit along with a picture of the cake. “I guess they misheard.”
“When my mom got to the store and started laughing they tried to wipe off the cat and put on a plastic cap, but she told them to keep it.”
Carol described the ordering process saying “It was one of those young kids behind the counter and he seemed a little distracted with someone else ordering a cake a foot away from us.”
The snap is proving incredibly popular on the user-aggregated website, racking up thousands of hits in just a matter of days and now going viral across the Internet.
‘”I can only image them doing it and thinking I was going to vet school or something,” Ms Gambrel added.
