‘Avengers Infinity War’ will cause ‘massive changes’ to MCU
Avengers: Infinity War appears to signal new changes for the MCU as Marvel Studios’ Jeremy Latcham reveals massive developments for the future of the franchise – with some of the original Avengers possibly killed off.
“I think it definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know as The Avengers. Who knows exactly what is going to happen yet in that film, but I think this version of that team – and I think we start to hint at it at the end of Age of Ultron -will be evolving.”
Latcham’s announcement aligns with the constant changes happening in the comic books including character evolution and additions as well as the departure of old ones.
Latcham explained that although the MCU franchise will continue to hold strong, the end of Phase Three may also signal the end of some characters in the superhero team-up.
“I think that’s part of what this culmination will be. We’re seeing this version of the team doing this thing to save the galaxy, and then we’ll see where that goes. It’s not the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I think it is the end of part of it for sure. We’re still trying to sort out which parts.”
Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, who play Captain America and Thor respectively, wanted to branch out while Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, already has numerous contract extensions.
The two-part Avengers: Infinity War will tackle the ever-growing threat of Thanos taking matters of universal domination into his own hands. The infinity stones will play much bigger parts in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the superhero team and these are thoroughly explained in a featurette posted by IGN.
Latcham and Marvel president Kevin Feige also confirmed the existence of two different Infinity Gauntlets in the MCU – one locked up in Odin’s vault and one with Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War part one is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4, 2018 while part two will debut a year later on May 3, 2019.
The first in the back-to-back installation is directed by Joseph and Anthony Russo and is produced by Marvel president Kevin Feige.
Ya know, I dont understand the concept of Hollywood ruining an already amazing story. The whole reason people want this to be done is because of the Infinity wars. Characters like adam warlock and a real galactus along with the celestials like epoch and enoch need to be introduced. Between both films, they are planning on spending $1 billion. Sorry, but i love originality. I dont want to see them screw up an amazing story.
Heres what needs to be introduced and configured into the story.
Silver Surfer….the only sentient being quick enough to steal the glove from Thanos as hes wearing it.
Adam Warlock….one of the key masterminds behind beating Thanos.
Thanos needs to die and come back after his deal with lady death. Gotta remember, he falls in love with her and tries to do everything to please her.
Galactus…not as a cloud like in the rise of the silver surfer.
Celestials….they play a bigger part in the fight.
I hope they work with the X-men producers and cross over all the characters involved in it as well. That would just top off everything and make this even more awesome. Hope they bring in Nova and Dr Strange as well. Anyways….Great article.
