‘Avengers Age of Ultron’ rumors: Don Cheadle to play big role as War Machine
The Avengers sequel is almost set to head into production and the rumor mill is always churning.
Hitfix confirms in a Dec. 12 article, saying “Col. Rhodes, aka War Machine, has a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel.”
More completely Bleeding Cool reported a rumor today that Rhodey (Don Cheadle) will play a part in the film, and HitFix can confirm that Col. Rhodes, aka War Machine, has a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel.
Cheadle has always been vocal and excited about the potential appearance in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“The movies, the family of Marvel movies, have been faithful to their own mythology, not necessarily to what the comic book dictates. You know, in the comic book Rhodey is in the Marines, Iron Patriot is a completely different character,” Cheadle said in April.
“So there’s a contained sort of mythology that the movies answer to, and that’s something that Marvel is continuously creating. So yeah, he might show up, I don’t know. I’d be down for it.”
Directed by Joss Whedon with the cast of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlet Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo are all set to return.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in theaters on May 1, 2015.
