Asonte Gutierrez, Illinois teen, found dead in alley, investigation ongoing
A body found in an alley in south suburban Lansing has been identified as a 15-year-old boy from Country Club Hills.
Asonte Gutierrez, age 15, was discovered Wednesday after midnight, authorities said. He had suffered a head wound.
The teen lived in Country Club Hills, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and reportedly the police took a person of interest into custody soon after the body’s discovery, but police didn’t identify the person as either a witness or suspect.
Lansing police said the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was assisting in the case.
An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
