Ashley Tisdale joins Nicolas Cage as stars in new ‘Left Behind’ film

The popular Christian novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins are getting a major Hollywood treatment, set for some time in 2014.

“Scary Movie 5” star Ashley Tisdale has joined the cast as Chloe Steele, the daughter of main character Ray Steele, who will be played by Nicolas Cage, reports Deadline on Thursday.

Based on the book of Revelation in the Bible, the fictional series follows the events following the Rapture, the disappearance of millions and millions of people from earth and the rise of the Anti-Christ.

Famous stuntman and stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong will be directing the film.

Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill, House of Wax) is rumored to be cast as the other male lead, journalist Buck Williams, who marries Chloe during the saga.

Tisdale, the former High School Musical star, recently had a two-episode arc on FX’s Sons Of Anarchy. “Scary Movie 5” opens in theaters on April 12, 2013.
