‘Arrow’ ‘The Flash’ crossover set, will help Ray Palmer’s Atom project
Below is the new clip of Ray Palmer in action, but more important to fans of Arrow is how Palmer, played by Brandon Routh, will be going over to The Flash and join the team to his ATOM tech going.
The episode is known as “All-Star Team-Up,” a nod to All-Star Comics, which brought the world its first super team with the Justice Society of America way back in the Golden Age. Andrew Kreisberg hinted to Variety about the episode’s focus:
“When you reach what’s going on in ‘The Flash’ at that point in the season, Barry (Grant Gustin) is really at a crossroads. Having Felicity (Emily Brett Rickards) come by exactly when he needs her really plays into the whole storyline. It’s fine because as Marc said, Ray Palmer is all about technology and STAR Labs is all about technology. We get to see Ray so happy to be in STAR Labs… With Cisco [Carlos Valdes] and Ray, they’re new best friends. The STAR Labs team is going to help Ray further his ATOM project.”
The CW released a clip from the upcoming “Midnight City” episode (set for January 28th), and the characters of both Palmer and Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) look to be a big part of the episode, as well as Felicity, as they have to deal with an attack from one of this season’s big villains, check it out below.
Marc Guggenheim gave some hints at Palmer’s suit, whether he’ll be putting it on and putting it in action.
“Ray is trying something brand new, also brand new for us too. He’s creating what we call the Super Suit, the ATOM suit that is really at the cutting edge of technology, both in the real world and on the show. He’s also going to have to discover that a super suit does not a hero make. Part of the thing that we’re always trying to be true to is putting on a costume is the easy part. It’s being the hero that’s the really difficult part and one does not mean you’ve accomplished the other.”
Brandon Routh talked a little about the suit with Access Hollywood, saying that fittings are “in the works,” it’s “very, very different” than his old Superman suit (from the film Superman Returns) and that “it’s actually more mobile than I would have imagined going in.”
