‘Arrow’ season 5 teaser poster, photos and Prometheus details
Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen is back as Arrow will start their fifth season with Oliver taking over as Mayor while rebuilding Team Arrow to face The Walking Dead star Chad L. Coleman as the villain Tobias Church during the first part of the season.
Check out the teaser below for some footage and a look at Coleman’s mobster.
Arrow Season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 at 8 pm with the episode, “Legacy.”
“Essentially the theme that we’re dealing with this year is legacy,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “The idea [is] Oliver honoring Black Canary’s [Katie Cassidy] legacy after Laurel’s death last year. As the season progresses, you’ll see that there are a lot of callbacks to season 1. What we’re doing is we’re dramatizing Oliver’s desire to grow, move forward, and evolve, but this concept of legacy keeps threatening to pull him back to the early days.”
Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) new recruits for Team Arrow are Curtis (Echo Kellum), Wild Dog (guest star Rick Gonzalez) and Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin). Unfortunately, the Green Arrow’s training methods prove to be too much for some of them to handle. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Oliver’s initiation into the Bratva continues.
Prometheus is a formidable new archer and NOT the DC Comics character created by Grant Morrison, but someone who fits into the theme of legacy. So who’s under the mask? “I can really only say that Oliver bears a measure of responsibility for the creation of Prometheus,” Guggenheim teases.
Below is the official synopsis.
Arrow Season 5 premieres Wednesday, October 5, on the CW.
Arrow season 5:
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. Oliver returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), former police captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum). Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City.
With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.
