‘Arrow’ season 4: Willa Holland as Speedy detailed, Alexander Calvert and Echo Kellum join cast
Willa Holland’s Thea on the CW hit show Arrow, has spent the series being nicknamed Speedy, and will finally take on that superhero identity in season four.
Holland confirmed at Comic-Con that she would be fighting in the costume more often next season, hoping to add a yellow cape to the uniform, an homage back to the costume in the comics.
In the comics, Speedy is the nickname of the Green Arrow’s sidekick, originally held by Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and eventually given to Mia Dearden.
The producers have confirmed Haynes will be back in future episodes since, as Holland told THR, “it’s not like he died.”
Fans may be disappointed to learn that it’s unlikely that Roy/Jason will become the Red Hood, Thea could potentially become Starling City’s “Red Hood.”
The series has made it a point to say that the person who comes out of the Lazarus Pit isn’t the same person who went in.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim has said the show would deal with the ramifications of Thea’s season three revival via the Lazarus Pit.
In casting news, Alexander Calvert (The Returned, Bates Motel) will play Anarky and and Echo Kellum (Ben and Kate)has been cast as Mr. Terrific for Arrow‘s upcoming fourth season.
According Comic Book Resources, Calvert will first appear in the second episode as Lonnie Machin (aka Anarky) who “is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.”
Arrow seson 4 will begin on October 7, 2015.
