Arkansas murder suicide leaves Terry Hardcastle, Johnny Cook dead, an unharmed infant inside
Jonesboro Police in Arkansas are investigating the death of Terry Hardcastle and Johnny Cook as a murder suicide.
Officials at the Jonesboro Police Department responded “in reference to a possible homicide,” call in the area of Jessup Street and North Church Street on Wednesday around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
They found Terry Hardcastle, 39, and Johnny Cook, 50, dead from gunshot wounds and an unharmed infant inside the home. Investigators quickly determined this was a murder suicide case, believing Cook shot Hardcastle before turning the weapon on himself.
“We’ve got a pretty good idea,” Sgt. Lyle Waterworth said. “But I couldn’t say with 100 percent certainty.”
Waterworth said both lived at the home and were in a dating relationship, but did not confirm the two adults’ relation to the infant. The child was turned over to a family member.
The bodies were sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
Police are considering this an ongoing an investigation.
“We will investigate all leads and follow the evidence to bring closure to this case,” Waterworth said.
