Arizona murder suicide: Mary Jo Cobb kills estranged husband, Michael Cobb, then herself
Arizona officials are investigating the Gilbert murder-suicide that occurred late Friday evening leaving Mary Jo Cobb and her husband, Michael Cobb dead.
Police responded to Cobb home near South Val Vista Avenue and Mesquite Drive around 11 p.m. Friday night to find Michael, 49, and Mary Jo Cobb, also 49, both deceased. The investigators report that Mary Jo killed Michael before taking her own life.
According to a family friend, the couple was separated, but Mrs. Cobb had invited her husband back to the house to celebrate an anniversary.
The friend said Mrs. Cobb was estranged from her family and hadn’t spoken to her mother for seven years or her father for 15 years.
At this time, police say they are not looking for additional suspects.
This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information was immediately available.
