Are Foam Mattresses Better than Innerspring Mattresses

Shopping for the right mattress is something that you cannot negotiate with. You have to get it right if you want to enjoy a good night’s sleep without any complications. Among the options available when one is looking for the ideal product are innerspring and foam mattresses. Both are superior products, but some experts agree that the foam mattresses are a better option and some of the reasons for this include:

Support and Comfort

Many users appreciate the contouring comfort that the memory foam products present. It is especially ideal for individuals who sleep on their side. These distribute the weight of the body evenly reducing pressure points significantly something that only these mattresses can do. They allow a person to relax fully and fall into deep sleep as many describe the feeling as floating or melting into their beds.

The products are firm to supple allowing users to enjoy excellent sleep without compromising their hips, backs, and joints. They are also beneficial when someone is sharing a bed with a partner who is always tossing and turning. It is because the foam typically takes up an individual’s shape; thus, a person gets to feel less disturbance.

You cannot claim the same for spring mattresses because they usually sag after a year or two. It implies that they do not offer as much support as the foam options. The inner springs are also known to lack in the department of providing adequate back support. They do not address spine alignment, and at times they can even cause pain when the springs push back and press the pressure points.

Quality

Although both the innerspring and memory foam are made to present top-notch quality to the market, the latter has an advantage in that manufacturers make it from certified natural and organic components without any metals. It means that the users get to enjoy clean air and reduced VOC exposure.

Sleepers are also not exposed to harmful chemicals when using the mattress. Additionally, the foam options also allow individuals to sleep cool without exposure from too much heat. It is because heat normally dissipates through the product staying away from the body.

The mattresses are also hypoallergenic which means that they are perfect for people who suffer allergies because dust mites cannot penetrate and thrive inside the products. They can only live on the surface where they can easily be eliminated.

It is not the case for the spring products because they do not adjust or feel different based on the sleeper’s body temperature. Furthermore, they are not hypoallergenic because the fluffy polyester tops combined with the empty spaces that the springs create make the ideal breeding grounds for dust mites, mold, and mildew.

Zero Maintenance

Another aspect where the foam mattresses carry the day is the fact that once you invest in the product, you will not need to do much regarding maintenance. It is not necessary to keep rotating or flipping it. Just keep sheets and covers clean and you will be good to go.

Spring mattresses require that you rotate them at least once every three months. It allows even wear. Sleepers have to be on the lookout when using it so that you do not bend or fold the spring as you may accidentally compromise it and break it.

Durability

The density of the foam mattresses allows a person to use it twice as long as if they had the spring variety. It is because it delays the formation of sags, impressions, and other things that cause the products to wear fast. Another perk that owners enjoy is that they also do not have to deal with annoying squealing or creaking. It means that the foam variety gives users great value for money because they do not to waste a lot of time and other resources always shopping to replace their products after a few years.

Ideal for People of All Ages

Young people can opt for the memory foam products because, in the long run, it is perfect for their pockets and health as well. On the other hand, they are the best option for old people. It applies in particular to the ones who have circulation problems or arthritis. It can also be used as an adjustable base in the latter years for the people who need it.

It is safe to say that when comparing innerspring mattresses to the foam options, the foam comes out as superior. It is because it offers better support, value, and durability. The only problem is that they tend to be a little bit more expensive than their counterparts perhaps because they present new greater technology. If a person can afford it, they are better off with the foam option as they will realize that their investment will not go down the drain in any way thanks to all the peaceful nights.
