Anthony Cumia fired for racist, sexist tweets, ‘Opie & Anthony’ will go on with Gregg Hughes
Opie & Anthony radio show host Anthony Cumia has been fired by SiriusXM, citing his “racially charged” and “hate-filled” remarks on Twitter as the reason.

Cumia’s remarks and postings, including Tweets and re-Tweets that were “degrading to women”, were “abhorrent” to SiriusXM, its spokesman Patrick Reilly said Friday. Cumia was officially fired late Thursday, Reilly said.
Cumia’s responsed Friday on Twitter with profanity directed at SiriusXM. He said he was fired over material that was not aired and was not illegal.
After taking a photo of a woman in Times Square she became angry, so he called her a “c–t” and a “savage” and wrote that he hoped someone would shoot her. “She’s lucky I was a white legal gun owner or she’d be dead,” he wrote around 4 a.m. Wednesday. “Then 5 blacks started giving me s–t!”
Cumia argued that the woman was a racist, she called him a “white motherf—-r” as she attacked him “It’s really open season on white people in this day and age,” Cumia wrote. “No recourse. Fight back and you’re a racist. The predators know this. Good luck.”
Cumia let loose a string of profanity and insults against the black woman, including describing her as “pig face worthless” and saying “This was an animal. I shoulda smashed it’s face,” he wrote.
Then came the firing and Cumia’s not-so-classy response:

Many of Cumia’s fans appeared to support him, with several others threatening to cancel their subscription to SiriusXM.
The Opie & Anthony Show aired weekdays live from 6:30 a.m. through 10:30 a.m. ET exclusively on XM Radio Channel 103 and Sirius Radio Channel 206. Gregg “Opie” Hughes is said to be continuing the show for now.
