‘Ant-Man’ details: Paul Rudd as a thief, Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket and Giant girl rumors

For Marvel fans, catching up on Ant-Man would be relevant since it’s the next film to follow Avengers, which is due next summer.

Ant-ManDirector Peyton Reed finally confirms this fact in an interview with ScreenRant, where he says: “Rudd’s character is an ex-con, a thief. It’s also got the structure of a heist movie. And there’s also a real personal dynamic to the movie, too. In the comics, Scott Lang has a daughter, and that’s part of the movie, too.”

CinemaBlend writes that “Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed to us that Ant-Man will be a heist picture, and will be a passing-of-the-torch mentor movie, with Rudd receiving the Ant-Man suit from Douglas’ character. And now we think we have confirmation as to why he will steal the Ant-Man technology. ”

He also confirms the presence of Cassie Lang, also known as Stature or Giant-Girl. iO9 notes “That certainly sounds like the film will be echoing the comic’s story of Scott Lang, whose crime spree is inspired by his daughter’s sickness and is what brings him into contact with Hank Pym. Fingers crossed that maybe Cassie is part of a long-term Marvel plan.”

From SDCC fans pieced together that Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll are still starring in the film with Patrick Wilson dropping out. We learned that Lilly will be playing Hope Pym (or Hope Van Dyne, depending on conflicting reports), and that Stoll will be the villainous Yellowjacket.

Reed replaced Adam McKay as director, who had replaced Edgar Wright on the film. A lot of rumors are swirling over creative differences and control on the film.

Ant-Man filming is underway in Atlanta.

Ant-Man will arrive in theaters July 31, 2015.
