Anne Curtis in ‘Pantygate’: Panty or No Panty? Curtis explains outfit

Anne Curtis’ performance of Rihanna’s song “Diamonds” on Sunday’s “ASAP 18” has caused quit a stir in the world of Filipino television, so much that the government’s TV watchdog, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)has opened an investigation, according to a Manila Bulletin report Wednesday.

The now famous, “wet look” performance showed Curtis wearing a black long gown with a slit that shows her left leg, thigh and half of her waist while water drips on her from an unseen shower (see the performance here, the 3:19 mark likely the part in question).

Questions of a “wardrobe malfunction” and whether the pinay actress was wearing underwear has spread on social media and in the Philippine media.

According to a tweet by the MTRCB, “MTRCB summons ASAP to gender-sensitivity investigation over alleged provocative outfit of one of its stars last Sunday. MTRCB to investigate ASAP over provocative number and outfit of one of the show’s performers last Sunday. Citing its Memo of Understanding w/ABS-CBN, et al to ensure gender-sensitivity, MTRCB calls ASAP over provocative number.”

MTRCB chair Eugenio Villareal confirmed that the board has sent the summons to ABS-CBN management, according to an Inquirer report.

In response, Anne Curtis tweeted the outfit in question with a detailed description of the makeup of the dress. She state in the tweet that she was not exposed– “I was completely protected. It may have seemed like a wardrobe malfunction to many but I can assure you, after making the mistake of not securing myself once I wouldn’t let that happen to me again. 🙂 So to settle all your minds I just had to post this.”
