AMC approves ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 3
AMC didn’t wait long to approve a third season of zombie-themed show Fear The Walking Dead as the network announced a 16 episode season 3 for 2017.
“What Dave Erickson and Robert Kirkman have invented in Fear The Walking Dead is to be applauded. Watching Los Angeles crumble through the eyes of our characters and seeing each make decisions and try to figure out the rules of their new world – it’s fresh, eerie and compelling and we’re all in for the ride,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios in a statement.
The network seems thrilled after the show’s season two premiere on Sunday, which drew 8.8 million viewers (Nielsen Live+3 ratings) and also announced that it had renewed the live aftershow, Talking Dead: Fear, hosted by Chris Hardwick, which follows all new episodes of Fear The Walking Dead.
A spin-off from the original series based on the popular Robert Kirkman comic books, Fear the Walking Dead is set in Los Angeles at the onset of the outbreak. After a hectic 6 episodes for a season one, season two began with the California survivors fleeing on a yacht.
Fear stars Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason, Lorenzo James Henrie, Ruben Blades, Colman Domingo and Michelle Ang.
Season 2 will have 15 episodes airing through May and into June.
