Alt-Left: Gay sex offender Adam Flanders fighting to get web hosting company to remove Life Site News

A convicted sex abuser who has filed a one million dollar suit against the group Mass Resistance is now finding success against Life Site News.

Adam Flanders

From the editors at Life Site News: “This is extremely urgent. I need to inform you that LifeSite just received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST from our web-hosting company alerting us that they will be taking our website down within 12 hours, if not sooner! They wrote: ‘we are implementing our ‘SUSPENSION OF SERVICES’ clause…and giving you 12 hours notice to move your web site operations off of our servers…’

“We received absolutely no forewarning whatsoever about this decision.”

Flanders threatened a lawsuit against FirstLight Fiber, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for AFTAH’s web host company, which led to Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) being shut down for more than two weeks beginning August 24.

Flanders claims his mugshot photo from a 2006 assault arrest against a minor boy was “copyrighted” material.

“Flanders, a homosexual activist, is a registered sex offender in both Maine and California, where he now lives,” explained Peter LaBarbera, founder of AFTAH and a former LifeSiteNews writer. “He pleaded guilty in 2008 to ‘Sexual Abuse of a Minor’ involving a boy aged 14 or 15. He also admitted to engaging in homosexual sex with his then-14-year-old ‘boyfriend’ when he (Flanders) was 18 – in a 2007 public letter exposing a Maine ‘gay youth’ club. Later, Flanders sought to retract the letter and demanded that websites take it down.”

LaBarbera said that Flanders has a long history of making “litigious and mendacious threats containing absurd, exaggerated and sometimes nonsensical claims against pro-family leaders and websites that have exposed his past criminal offenses and other actions.”

“AFTAH will not take it down because it is obviously in the public domain and not ‘owned’ by Flanders,” said LaBarbera, who notes that mugshots are routinely used in news stories and political ads.

Back to Life Site:

Flanders’ latest complaint is focused on the absurd allegation that LifeSite “has been implicated in a violent hate crime against a gay man and Catholic church,” and that we “instigated property damage and a physical assault.”

They state:

“Our web developer is scrambling right now to set up a possibly-needed temporary solution to keep the website live. However, we’re going to have to go through the ordeal and expense of moving server companies. We also intend to fight these attacks, which will carry significant legal costs.

“LifeSite is committed to continue reporting on Flanders and the entire anti-freedom homosexualist lobby.”
