Aimee Garcia, who plays Jamie Batista, will be a regular for ‘Dexter’ season 8
The “Vegas” actress who plays Dexter’s nanny and Angel’s little sister on the Showtime serial-killer drama, Aimee Garcia has been promoted.

Garcia, who has been recurring as graduate student Jamie, has been promoted to series regular, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Production on the upcoming eighth and possibly final season of Dexter begins this month looking at summer launch.
In the season-seven finale, Angel was on the brink of retiring from his detective position in favor of a simpler life running a restaurant. With the death of his recent ex-wife Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez), it’s unclear just how his law-enforcement career will be affected.
In addition to her role on Dexter, Garcia has been recurring on CBS’ freshman drama Vegas, opposite Michael Chiklis and Dennis Quaid. She’ll next be seen in the MGM RoboCop update starring Gary Oldman.
