The Washington Post reports, Helmi Sugara, event organizer spokesman said the band canceled Saturday, a day after Indonesia announced it had arrested two suspected militants with bombs. They were allegedly planning to attack the embassy in Jakarta to protest Myanmar’s treatment of Muslims.

The band issued an apology for their Indonesian fans on the Ismaya Live website: “Despite having a massive fan base in Indonesia, the band says:  “Unfortunately, we have to cancel our upcoming show in Jakarta.  We want to apologize to all our fans who were expecting to see us and hope that one day we can make it up to them.”

It is uncertain if the cancellation was due to the planned terror attack or a different threat.

Aerosmith arrived in Manila today for their first ever concert in Southeast Asia. They will be performing Wednesday night, May 8.

The Bellingham Herald reports that lead vocalist, Steven Tyler told jounalists there, “I can’t wait to play, I can’t believe you guys.”

Aerosmith returns to the states after the Manila show, but then returns in August to do several shows in Japan.
