Adam West talks ‘Dark Knight Rises’, cameo rumors

Adam West, the Batman actor from the 1960’s TV series, who now lends his voice to “Family Guy” as Mayor Adam West, talked about this summer’s “The Dark Knight Rises” with IGN in a new interview released this weekend.

West, who was honored earlier this month with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, was quick to praise the new films by Christopher Nolan and company.

“I’m a fan of anything that’s good, especially when it’s conscientiously good.”

Rumors have floated around the Internet that Batman may die in “Rises.” West doesn’t address the rumor as much as he praises the character.

“To me, it’s an interesting idea because Batman – the character, the legend, the extension of it over all these years – it lends itself to different machinations, layers, different time zones – anything. You could really pretty much mold Batman. He’s malleable, welcome and always interesting. They [Christopher Nolan] do The Dark Knight, and I did The Bright Knight. Ours was fun for the whole family.”

West also talks about some of the cameo rumors as well.

“[laughing] I’d love to play Batman, and come in one night, flying in through the library window on the wings of a bat, or something. Right when Batman is totally overwhelmed with terrible things happening in Gotham City, and give him some advice. Either as a real character or fantasy character – whatever!”

Check out the entire interview at IGN.

“The Dark Knight Rises” comes to theaters on July 20th, 2012.
