Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, a cornerback for the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, was cited early Monday morning. The incident happened at a traffic stop on a highway in Cincinnati at 2: 30 a.m.

Jones, who was the passenger in a car was drunk and was reported to make offensive comments. The driver of the car was found under the influence and was pulled over for driving 60 mph in a 45 mph zone, Cincinnati, State Patrol Lt. Anne Ralston said.

While initially it was reported that Jones and the driver were arrested, they were issued citations by the Ohio police.

ESPN reports, “…Ohio police officers are directed to issue citations for minor misdemeanors unless the offender needs medical care, can’t verify identity or won’t sign the citation.” According to a police report obtained by ESPN, Jones was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

No official statement has been received from the Bengals, who are aware of the misdemeanor.

“As with most situations of this nature, it would be inappropriate for the team to comment until the matter is resolved through normal legal channels,” a team spokesman told ESPN.
