According to StarOfService, Driving Lessons is the most sought-after service category in Manchester these days!

StarOfService, Europe’s leading online services platform, recently published their June statistics for Manchester and revealed the Top 10 services in high demand in the city and its surrounding area.

The platform’s study also took into account data collected from the first quarter of 2017 and compared it with statistics obtained from the previous year. The analysis also revealed that the growing demand for the majority of the Top 10 services will continue to prevail during the upcoming summer months. This is good news for the professionals offering those services through the StarOfService community!

Summer is traditionally the season of long, warm sunny days, when services such as hair styling, personal training, dog walking and pet grooming often experience a very high demand for experienced professionals. These services are normally affected by seasonality. But, since we are talking about the UK, it is easy to understand why the number #1 service category listed in StarOfService’s ranking is driving lessons, right? Spring and summer are indeed the best, and safest season, one might add, to learn how to drive!

Interestingly, however, driving lessons have been in high demand since the beginning of this year, with numbers rising month after month. According to a recent report on driver and rider testing and instruction from UK’s Department for Transport, there were over a million practical and theory driving tests conducted between January and March 2017, which represents an increase of 9% from the same period in 2016.

The practical tests alone were 21% higher than in the same period in 2016. The number is even higher now than before the recession. This surprising growth was made possible for the most part thanks to the recent increase of available examiners, which reduced the waiting times considerably.

Here is the top 10 services’ ranking of the most requested Professionals in Manchester – and its surrounding area – according to StarOfService:

  1. Driving lessons.
  2. Hair styling.
  3. Personal training.
  4. Dog training.
  5. Dog walking.
  6. Pet grooming.
  7. Plumbing.
  8. Window cleaning.
  9. Dermatology.
  10. Plastering.

“Even though seasonality has a determining role in this scenario, StarOfService’s statistics offer a valuable insight to local business owners and services’ providers about the economic trends of their local markets and the consumer behaviour in their niches of business. Crucial information that will surely help professionals plan their business strategy”, notes Monica Zamfir, StarOfService’s International Director.

StarOfService (www.starofservice.co.uk), launched in Paris in 2013, is presently Europe’s leading platform for online services, with a presence in 80 countries worldwide. From hairdressers and fitness instructors to wedding photographers and DJs, StarOfService offers around 900 different services. The platform allows clients to quickly find the nearest top-notch professionals, and helps the community’s professionals shine, thanks to an online business profile showcasing their services and expertise.
