ABC debuts trailer ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’ as producers talk ‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, a Once Upon a Time spin-off, is a new drama told through the eyes of Alice (Sophie Lowe), who has a generous heart, but carries the scars of a long and hard life. Once Upon a Time will carry on as well, heading into season 3.

Once producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will write and executive-produce alongside Zack Estrin and Steve Pearlman.

SOPHIE LOWEThe creators promise we’re going to see a lot of drama go down between Emma and the crew as the try to search for little Henry, we’re going to find out more of the history between Rumpelstiltskin and Peter Pan.

“At the end of season 2, we’ve placed our core group in a very difficult situation. Some of them are on the boat; some of them are behind in Storybrooke; some of them are in another land. So the question is, how do we best continue telling their stories?

Sometimes that will require flashbacks; sometimes it won’t. We want to continue to expand the storytelling modality of the show, like we did in season 2, where we were able to do things like flash back to Emma for the first time, or see time during the curse.”

Looking ahead to Wonderland, Alice (Sophie Lowe) in Victorian England tells the story of a strange new land that exists—where else?—on the other side of a rabbit hole where you can find an invisible cat, a hookah-smoking caterpillar and playing cards that can talk. Doctors think she’s crazy and try to “cure” her with a treatment to forget it all. While she may be ready to forget it all, put everything, including the genie she loved and lost, Cyrus (Peter Gadiot), she knows it’s all real, and she is saved just in time by the sardonic Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) and irrepressible White Rabbit (John Lithgow). They then head down the rabbit hole to Wonderland, where nothing is impossible.

“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. this fall on ABC.

Thank you for sharing Stephen! I’m excited for both Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and the third season of Once Upon a Time, so I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for their premiere dates to see how they turn out! I know I won’t be able to watch any of the episodes live for either show because of my work schedule at DISH, but I will make sure to record all of the new episodes to watch on my own time. Luckily my DISH Hopper can store up to 2,000 hours of entertainment, so when these shows do air, I’ll thankfully have plenty of room to record both seasons in addition to all of my other shows in the future; I can’t wait!
