Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen officially cast in ‘Avengers Age of Ultron’ as Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch
The rumors can end as The Avengers: Age of Ultron has officially added Aaron Taylor-Johnson to its cast as Quicksilver, according to a report.
Latino Review claims that the Kick-Ass star has finally signed up to play the mutant hero, following months of speculation.
Additionally, Elizabeth Olsen will play the Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Samuel L Jackson, while promoting Spike Lee’s upcoming Oldboy remake, mentioned her casting during an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said of Joss Whedon’s sequel. “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms Olsen.
“But I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Marvel Studios and Fox each have the screen rights to Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver due to their affiliation with both the Avengers and the X-Men.
Evan Peters will play Quicksilver in Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Olsen and Taylor-Johnson will also co-star in Gareth Edwards’s upcoming remake of Godzilla.
Directed by Joss Whedon with the cast of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlet Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo are all set to return.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in theaters May 1, 2015.
