4 Most Horrendous Celebrity Websites

“Celebrity” isn’t what it used to be, and now A-listers and D-listers alike are expected to engage directly with their fan base. It’s easy with websites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, other social media sites and of course online gossip magazines welcoming celebrity contributors. However, not every celebrity is cut out to be a blogger and might do better sticking with acting or music. Some celebrity websites aren’t just ugly, but downright embarrassing.

In fact, these websites are probably doing much more harm than good. Whether it’s just the confusing layout of the site or if the celeb has a penchant for ranting and venting, their PR agent needs to step in yesterday and put a stop to the madness. Here are some of the worst celebrity websites out there:

the-giver-jeff bridges movie poster1. Jeff Bridges

Almost the entire website is written in his own hand and filled with doodles. It’s kind of a cool concept, but it just doesn’t mesh. It looks like you’re peeking into the unlined notebook of a high schooler, and Bridges goes off on tangents from his charities to his latest projects. That’s all good, except it’s headache inducing when you have to read about it in a not-great script.

2. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwynnie’s “Goop” blog is where she coined “conscious uncoupling” and while there are plenty of fans here, it’s also fodder for jokes. It’s like she wants to be a young, trending Martha Stewart but she should have stuck to a narrower niche. Doling out investment advice and talking about her divorce in between diet tips and shopping suggestions makes it a mess (of good, probably).

3. Rosie O’Donnell

She’s gone off the deep end, and it’s collected at her website. For some reason, she writes like a teenager and in text speak, dishing up bad haikus and regularly ranting about things that make very little sense. It’s uncertain whether her public relations agent is involved in this or not, but it’s certainly not doing her any favors (plus she chooses photos that look like mug shots).

4. Britney Spears

This on again, off again website just needs to call it a day. While it was “under construction” for a long stretch during her breakdown, it’s back up and pink as ever. Ms. Spears needs to update it in order to fit her new (grown, sane) self.

If you’re going to do a website, do it right. These celebrities have endless funds, and yet many of them have what looks like a new age LiveJournal.
