3 Reasons Why You Need a Mobile App as Part of Your Startup’s Marketing Toolbox

We live in the post-modern age, an age where instant gratification is par for the course and where businesses need to spend a large part of their annual budget marketing their products. In simple terms, if we don’t find what we want now, we move onto the next best thing. Consequently, how do companies, both large and small, new and old, stay relevant in today’s world? How do we offer the populace what they want?

We are also in a mobile age. Statistics show that “for 2017 the number of mobile phone users is forecast to reach 4.77 billion.” The estimated world’s population currently stands at around 7.4 billion people. In other words, research has shown that if your business is not easily accessible via a mobile platform, it will lose out.

Thirdly, it is notoriously difficult for new startups to enter and gain traction in the marketplace. According to Forbes, 90% of all startups fail. Neil Patel, a Forbes contributor, states that “nine out of ten startups will fail. This is a hard and bleak truth, but one that you’d do well to meditate on.”

These are shocking statistics; consequently, I believe that startup owners should place serious emphasis on working towards remaining in the 10% success rate sector. How do you make a success of your startup? How do you manipulate the market to your startup’s advantage?

There are many different ways you can ensure that your startup is a success. One of the most important, and fastest growing ways, is to create a mobile app to compliment your startup’s business offering.

Realistically, however, it is not cheap to build a mobile app so you need to be absolutely sure that a mobile app will add value to your startup. It is advisable to contract a professional app development agency to build your app as they are specialists in their field. A good app development company will be able to advise you on industry best practice and successful mobile app design.

Here are 3 reasons why a mobile app will help your startup grow into a sustainable business:

  • Communicate with your customer base

A mobile app allows you the option of communicating with your customers in real-time based on geographical location and user profile. By utilizing geographical location and user profile, you are able to send messages that are specific to your target group. This will ultimately save on marketing costs and increase your ROI as a result of increased sales.

  • Maximize ROI

Maximizing your startup’s Return on Investment is a vital part of keeping your business alive. We all know that business owners need to spend money to make money; however, you need to ensure that you spend wisely in order to build a successful business. If you have contracted professional app developers to develop your mobile app, you have a greater chance of being able to maximize your ROI. Spending money to build a mobile app in order to market your business to your target audience seems like a wise decision to me.

  • Promote your products and services

As stated before, the primary reason for developing a startup is to make money. You will need to put together a robust digital media marketing campaign in order to advertise your products and services.  If you don’t market your products, how will people know what your value proposition is? A mobile app is one of the best tools to utilize when it comes to marketing your brand to your customer base.

Final Thoughts

Building a startup into a successful business is not an easy task, and while it is difficult to calculate ROI on your mobile app spend, I believe that you will find that developing a mobile app to leverage sales and grow your business is a vital part of building a successful startup.
