2014 Cold case: Murder victim Andrew Surage CCTV video released
The Toronto police homicide squad has released surveillance video Tuesday it hopes will help identify suspects in the Andrew Surage murder outside a west-end after-hours bar in 2014.
Surage, 42, father of five, was shot dead outside the Captain Social Club on Weston Rd. in the early hours of Oct. 5, 2014. Police previously said that Surage and his friends had been leaving the bar when a man assaulted one of his friends and grabbed a chain from around the friend’s neck.
Det Sgt Graham Gibson says the bar wasn’t “their scene” and so Surage and his friends left.
Surage became involved and demanded the man return the chain, but the suspect fled the scene. The suspect later returned with a gun and shot Surage in the chest.
Police say the surveillance video also shows three people with the suspect, two men and a woman who are persons of interest.
Police are trying to identify the four people.
