Legacy Outreach Church pastor, Manning Strickland, was speaking on the attack his church has endured, where gun shots were fired and the sound system, projectors and parishioners were all unharmed.

Strickland believes that the shots were fired on Saturday, though it is unclear what time. He said that the church sometimes has movie nights on Saturday nights though there was nothing scheduled last weekend.

“”If someone had been in there, it would not have been good,” Strickland told The Christian Post. “We look at the bright side, we thank God, nothing was really hurt, just cosmetically.”

After the pastor discovered the damage he changed the sign on the front of the church to say, “16 bullet holes in our building, 3 bullets found in sanctuary, please aim other way.”

“Somebody told me Sunday was the first day of deer season, so I’m just thinking somebody was down there in the woods shooting,” Strickland told KCTV 5. “They loaded their gun, but didn’t load their brain.”

There has been no word on how much the damage will fix to cost at this time.

Strickland would like for people to heed the sign’s warning. And he said they could drop by the church.

“I’ll give them their bullets back if they come see us,” Strickland said.

Spartanburg County deputies are still trying to find out who is responsible for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 888-CRIME-SC.
